The Room 1 writers BOOK LAUNCH

What a great afternoon.  Writing information, writing sharing and refreshments to finish.
A big thank you to all the parents who came to support our budding authors. And a huge thank you to the children who have been working really hard on their writing and who really enjoyed sharing it with a others.

There are more photos to come from Mrs Cole's camera.  We are really proud of all the children.  Well done lovelies.

A sneak peak at our virtual trip

I have been out this weekend photographing and taking movies ready for our virtual trip on Tuesday.
It is just so beautiful up at Kaitoke. I can completely recommend it as a great family morning or day out.

Valley, Mountains and the River - In the sandpit

Look at the amazing afternoon we had today.  

A sandpit build of the Hutt Valley from the mountains and streams in Kaitoke all the way down to the River meets the sea, at Petone.

We will be taking this trip , for real, next week.  It would be great if you could join us.  Please let your child's class teacher know.

Shared Reading in Room 1 - Children from Room 1 and 2

Over the last few weeks we have been talking about the different parts of a Narrative story.  We have talked about

•  the setting - where the story happens,
•  the characters - who is in the story,
•  the problem - what happens in the story and 
• the solution - how was the problem solved.

Here are some of the characters children chose to make from different books.

Ball skills in Room 1 and 2

We have been having lots of fun with balls, bean bags and balloons.  Earlier this term we had a rotation in the hall.  We moved around different activities to practice different ball skills.
