Monday 9th March
Well there were 25 very excited 5 and 6 year olds, in Room 1 today as the much awaited Swimming lessons began.
We were lucky enough to to be driven in the best bus ever - complete with seat belts and curtains. Two important details that appeared in a number of our stories when we returned to school.
Here are a few photo's of our first day. Many thanks to our on site photographers Maddix's Mum and the very helpful Leoh.
A very BIG thank you to the many Mum's who helped make our first swimming day run so smoothly.

Amazing Art work from Room 1 - Photos
Friday 6 March 2015
Today we read the Legend of Maui and the Sun. The children were really keen to make Koru art to represent the story. Together we decided that we would paint or pastel our masterpieces. We all had to plan our art work on a whiteboard before we used pastel or paint.
Look at the amazing work we produced.

Junior Discovery
Wednesday 4th March
What a great day for a Treasure Hunt in the sandpit. It didn't matter that the treasure was clothes pegs.
A number of children showed just how amazing they are at Caring for others and working together.
I think there are still 2 pegs left in the sandpit. I wonder who will find them??

A Special Visitor for the Junior School
The Junior Syndicate had a special visitor yesterday - Mrs Hey brought in Bruno her dog! Bruno loved visiting the children. He sat down and could shake hands with Mrs Hey and he chased his favourite red ball. Mrs Hey showed all the different leads she used with Bruno.
He really loved all the children at St Brendan's and would love to visit them again.
Watch this space- pictures to come....

Writing in Room 1
Tuesday 3 March
In Room 1 we have been spending a bit of time in the school garden. Last week we visited the garden to see what was there and where our garden boxes were. This week we have planted seedlings.
Look at the great photos and word walls we have created.

Gardening in Room 1 and 6
Monday 2 March.
With all the lovely weather we have been having Jenny McGuiness and the garden group have been busy in the school garden, preparing it for planting.
We spent time on Monday morning planting cabbages, lettuces, celery and roly poly carrots.
